Friday
Math - We spent our Math time giving our Animal Presentations! Wow! What a show! It was so fun to hear what each kiddo learned about the animal chose to research!!
Reading - Today we looked at the different ways to make long a. We especially focused on ai and ay.
Writing - We moved on to the next step in our class book. We each wrote our page in marker. It's now permanent! :) Monday we will begin illustrating our pictures.
This Week 12/10 - 12/14
Help your child practice sorting and spelling his/her spelling words for the week. The sorting counts as much as the spelling. It sounds silly, but it helps build connections between known and unknown words.
We are going to computers again this week and next.
Monday
Math - Today we practiced frames and arrows with an added challenge. This added challenge was really tough for many kiddos to get, so please be sure to practice with your child in tonight's Home Link.
Reading - We read a letter written in the magazine Ranger Rick. We then retold what we read on a reading response sheet.
Writing - We started looking at build on and repeat styles of writing. We are going to study a number of stories that add on, and then repeat, such as I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, and then try to write our own.
Social Studies - We have been going over to Mrs. Clark's class to learn about germs and other things that make us sick!
Be sure to check out your child's Planner to find out about your child's homework. Please sign their planner when you see that they have finished all of their homework
Welcome to my online classroom.
I have taught at Canyon Creek since 2006. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a minor in International Studies. I then continued my education at University of California, Irvine where I completed a minor in Health Education.
I have an innate passion for sports and physical activity, and work that into my curriculum whenever possible. I also coach figure skating for the Denver Skating Club. My hobbies include reading, singing or listening to contemporary music, watching or playing sports.
I am truly blessed to have such wonderful students and caring, interactive parents. Please do not hesitate to message me with any questions or concerns you might have.
Sincerely,
Tabitha Ryan
